PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The International Technician Education Program (ITEP) provides Navistar-International and Workhorse dealers access to new technicians who have just completed training in a variety of International Courses. This thorough 14-week program is based on curriculum from Navistar-International. ITEP graduates develop their skills working on late-model vehicles and engines. The program challenges students with 70% hands-on lab training and 30% theory. Each student is required to pass individual hands-on and written exams as well as practical lab exercises on the vehicles. 

To qualify to attend ITEP applicants must graduate from Universal Technical Institute or another approved post-secondary diesel program. In their program students must maintain standards in GPA, Attendance, Motor Vehicle Record, pass an assessment Exam, possess the 609 Automotive Air Condition Certification, be drug free and have no criminal record or gang affiliation. Students must also be willing to commit to employment with a participating dealer for a pre-determined length of time.
