PROGRAM OVERVIEW

With Volvo Service Automotive Factory Education - SAFE, Volvo dealers have access to new technicians who have just completed training in a thorough 16-week program based on curriculum from Volvo Cars of North America. Graduates of SAFE develop their skills while working on late-model vehicles, challenging students with 70% hands-on lab training and 30% theory. Each student is required to pass individual hands on and written exams as well as practical lab exercises on the vehicles. Grades are kept current throughout the program to ensure each student is achieving their maximum potential.

To qualify to attend Volvo SAFE applicants must graduate from Universal Technical Institute or another approved post-secondary automotive program. In their automotive program students must maintain standards in GPA, Attendance, Motor Vehicle Record, pass an assessment Exam, possess the 609 Automotive Air Condition Certification, be drug free and have no criminal record or gang affiliation. Students must also be willing to commit to employment with a participating dealer for a pre-determined length of time.
